Instead of annoying Facebook girl, you could get the guy who made the “OMG Shoes” video, or maybe Rebecca Black? There should also be an earth-bound antagonist to hinder your nice-guy protagonist and hey-girl mentor in the hero journey. Maybe .. the Troll guy?

Oh. And I would totally watch Bound. Combines all those apocalypse/end of the world movies with religion – Win! But..would that be considered a Disasterpiece fail, since it’s really not a worst movie idea?

  2. Andy says:

I have to agree with Alex here: Fisherman sounds like the dying dream of a closeted gay pastor. There’s more, but from what i remember; “the company of men”, “Thrustwell”, “his love of wood”, Christian Nancy, “firm, godly men like Dick”, “Dick and Willy” are all hints of what’s really going on in this little fishing village where carpenters moonlight as the cast from Hung. I think its hilarious too, but I suspect if you point it out the very Christian audience, they’ll probably fly off the handle.

Then again, that might be fun to watch too…

    • William Nancy may have an effeminate last name, but that’s no reason to assume he’s homosexual! I think you and Alex are reading in things that just aren’t there. Sometimes a cigar is just text and not subtext.

      • Andy says:

Hmm, maaaybe. I agree, the surname is just a coincidence, but the rest? Gay. An all-male bible group who welcome the lost sheep into their arms? The man who almost (almost!) cheats with another woman, but is luckily then saved by a group of men who are in the midst of a lot of euphemisms. Alex’s and my heads might be in the gutter, but Kirk Cameron and his crew are down by the Red Light District talking to a guy named “Butch” with a handlebar moustache.
